When Scott and I were wondering who we should interview next for the podcast, we took a chance to contact our dream guests.  We sent out instagram direct messages, and Phil was the first to get back to us!

Woohoo, how awesome is that! As he said, “I’m sitting at home, what else do I have to do?” I don’t take that as a pity podcast, because after talking to Phil, he said, “This Is the Best Podcast Ever!” I ain’t lying, go take a listen to Episode 15.

We also promised that we’d give you 7 reasons to eat chocolate. After the links for the podcast, you’ll see a more detailed article.

I spent a lot of time writing the article before Scott came in.  He slashed and burned with his red pen lol to come up with what you heard on the podcast, haha. But, you can get the entire detailed research that I came up with below.

You know, there are a lot of reasons you should eat chocolate.  But, really when doctors talk about this, it’s specifically, Dark Chocolate.  You won’t need to feel guilty about having that piece of dark chocolate everyday.

Basically, chocolate improves blood flow and lowers your blood pressure, so it  helps with “haha” you know what.

Reason #5 - Live Longer!

The compounds in dark chocolate appear to help the body be protected against bad cholesterol. Then, less cholesterol stays in your  arteries, so you have a lower risk of heart disease. There was a study of 470- elderly men, where it showed that cocoa reduced the risk of death from heart disease by a crazy 50% over a 15 year period. Another study revealed that eating chocolate 2 or more times per week lowered the risk of having plaque in the arteries by 32%.  Another study showed that eating dark chocolate more than 5 times per week lowered the risk of heart disease by 57% Basically, chocolate could Reduce the Risk of Heart Disease.

Dark chocolate can maybe improve the workings of your brain. One study showed that cocoa for 5 days improves the blood flow to the brain. Also, Cocoa has caffeine in it, which can help you to “wake up” and it has something called theobromine, which has a huge number of health benefits in regards to your heart, energy, ability to think, your teeth health, your mood, as a cough suppressant, reducing inflamation, and contributing to a healthy respiratory system.
