HOW DOES THIS WORK?

We started This is Yu because we saw an opportunity to help food bloggers realize their unique visions with dynamic videos. We have over fifteen years experience in editing film and video. We pay close attention to every element including food styling, music, and color to ensure your food video is distinct. Because of our attention to detail, our clientele includes DreamWorksTV, The Hershey Company, Girls’ Life Magazine, 800 Degrees, and Umami Burger to name a few.
WHAT WILL I RECEIVE?
* Video shoot for a 60 second or less “tasty style” video. * Video edit (including edit, sound, and color) done in Davinci Resolve, the same software that studios use to edit major motion pictures. * Video will suit all social media formats (rectangle or square). * Pricing includes ingredients up to $25. (If the recipe requires expensive or hard to find ingredients, or alcohol, price will be adjusted accordingly). * Copyright ownership of the video. Additional Charges as required - Accelerated Time Frame, Sponsored Videos, Multiple Recipes in One Video.
WHERE DOES THE MUSIC COME FROM?
We have an account with artlist.io. Our license allows us the music rights for your videos. We can provide that license, when needed, to show proof of rights. There are two options for music. We will choose music from the collection, or you can send music to us that you’ve purchased with a license.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
We understand you’re excited to receive your bright, new, shiny video. Our calendar is constantly in motion, so please contact us at carole@thisisyu.com for turnaround time. Book a calendar slot now!
HOW DO I GET THE GOODS?
We use Google drive to send you videos. After the video is edited, we will send you a link to the video, at which point you’ll be able to download the video. Take a look at the video, and let us know if you want any changes to the text, sound or animation. Please let us know in one email of these changes asap. We will make the changes and then send you the final product for your download. If you require additional changes and edits, after that time, there is a $50 added fee. After you’ve downloaded your new video, we will delete it from Google Drive to make room for other client work. We will keep the video file and raw footage on our hard drives for 30 days only.
WHAT IF I NEED ADDITIONAL FOOTAGE?
We have a great eye for food. If for some reason, you need us to shoot more footage, there will be an additional charge of $200. At this point, the additional video footage will be put back into the cue. We will try to re-shoot quickly, but will have other client work to consider.
WHAT CONDITIONS ARE THERE ON VIDEOS?
Sometimes there are recipes that are very complicated, use hard to find ingredients or are beyond our cooking skills. We will not be able to create videos for something like Peking Duck, or Laminated Pastries, you get the idea…. Just email me at carole@thisisyu.com and we can figure out a solution for you.
CAN YOU GUARANTEE THE VIDEO GETS VIEWS?
We would love to promise that our videos will go viral, or bring thousands of new likes or follows to your social media. However, we can’t make any guarantees in how the video affects your business. Please thoughtfully choose a recipe that you think represents your site well. Remember, the way to promote your website depends on your marketing skills and using your network to get the word out there.
Quality Ingredients
We use the Panisonic Lumix GH4 camera which shoots in 4k resolution for our overhead shots! The Canon 5d Mark 2 for side shots and the X-Rite video color checker to make sure your recipes look their best!
